Meshtastic Tactical Node

Context

Meshtastic is an open-source mesh networking platform. The hardware ecosystem is functional but utilitarian—most devices look like development boards with screens and buttons. For the tactical/ATAK crowd who want off-grid comms that blend with their gear, the aesthetic mismatch is real.

What we did

Industrial Design

Rectangular form with rounded edges—rugged without being bulky
Three prominent stubby antennas (the “MANET radio” silhouette)
Recessed hexagonal honeycomb inlay pattern for visual texture
No screen, no buttons, no speaker—minimalist tactical aesthetic
Ventilation slits above the inlay for passive cooling
